Meet Ilana Block

Ilana Block has practiced Naturopathic Medicine in Montreal since 2001, but since 2010 her passion for nature has taken her far beyond the office and into the wild, camera in hand.

A lifelong nature lover, she found wildlife photography to be a natural extension of that deep connection.

Ilana is an award-winning photographer whose work has been exhibited locally and internationally, published in nature magazines, featured in the Montreal Gazette, and included in permanent hospital collections.

A former Chair of the Nature Division at the Montreal Camera Club, she loves leading workshops, traveling, discovering new wildlife, and sharing her deep love of photography with others.

Her love for animals extends far beyond the wild. Ilana has a profound affection for all animals—especially dogs—and is deeply inspired by the unique bond they share with their people. Through her fine art pet photography, she strives to capture not just an image, but the soul, personality, and quiet beauty of each animal, creating timeless pieces that families can cherish forever. To her, these photographs are more than portraits—they are lasting tributes to beloved companions and the love they bring into our lives.
